This functionality is provided as a preview
of intended future API capabilities. You are encouraged to use it and report any problems or suggestions using the
Fusion API and Scripts forum.
Because this is a preview of future functionality, there is the possibility that it will change, which will possibly
break any existing programs that use this functionality. Because of that, you should never deliver any programs that use
any preview capabilities. For a distributed program, you should wait until it has moved from preview to released state.
The definition for a contour flange feature, providing access to the parameters that define the feature.
| Name | Description |
| classType |
Static function that all classes support that returns the type of the class as a string. The returned string matches the string returned by the objectType property. For example if you have a reference to an object and you want to check if it's a SketchLine you can use myObject.objectType == fusion.SketchLine.classType(). |
| setOneSideDirection |
Sets the direction to be one-sided. |
| setSymmetricDirection |
Sets the direction to be symmetric. |
| setTwoSidesDirection |
Sets the direction to be two-sided. |
| Name | Description |
| direction | Gets the direction of the contour flange. This defines in which direction the profile is extruded. To change the direction you need to use setOneSideDirection, setSymmetricDirection, or setTwoSidesDirection methods to specify the new direction and distances. |
| distance | Gets the parameter that controls the extrude distance when the direction is set to one side or symmetric. It also returns the first distance when a two-sided extent is defined. To change the value, use the properties on the returned ModelParameter object. |
| distanceTwo | Gets the parameter that controls the extrude distance when a two-sided extent is defined. If a one-sided or symmetric extent is defined, this property will return null. To change the value, use the properties on the returned ModelParameter object. |
| isValid | Indicates if this object is still valid, i.e. hasn't been deleted or some other action done to invalidate the reference. |
| objectType | This property is supported by all objects in the API and returns a string that contains the full name (namespace::objecttype) describing the type of the object. It's often useful to use this in combination with the classType method to see if an object is a certain type. For example: if obj.objectType == adsk.core.Point3D.classType(): |
| orientation | Gets and sets the orientation of the contour flange. This defines which side of the profile the thickness is applied. To change the orientation, you need to position the timeline marker to immediately before this feature. This can be accomplished using the following code: thisFeature.timelineObject.rollTo(true) |
| profiles | Gets and sets the array of open profiles that define the shape of the contour flange. The profiles can be in different sketches but must be parallel to one another. To set this property, you need to position the timeline marker to immediately before this feature. This can be accomplished using the following code: thisFeature.timelineObject.rollTo(true) |

| Flange Feature Sample | Demonstrates accessing and creating sheet metal flange features including base flange, contour flange, and edge flange. To run the sample script, have a design open in Fusion's DESIGN workspace that contains a sheet metal body in the root component. The body must have at least one linear edge on its outside that is valid for a flange. A design created with the Sheet Metal > Create > Flange commands, or any design containing a base flange, satisfies this. The script first iterates over any flange features that already exist in the design and reads the settings from each definition, so the reading portion reports nothing if the design has no flanges yet. It then finds the first linear edge on the first body in the root component and uses it to create a new edge flange feature. Reading the edges back from the created feature requires rolling the timeline marker to immediately before the feature, which the script does using TimelineObject.rollTo. |
