Create a rigid group of components

Learn how to use the Rigid Group command to lock the relative position of a set of selected components in a design in Fusion.

  1. On the Design toolbar, select Assemble > Rigid Group rigid group icon.

    The Rigid Group dialog displays.

  2. In the canvas or the Browser, select two or more components.

  3. Optional: Check Include Child Components to include all of the child components nested within the components you select.

  4. Click OK.

The components are fixed in their positions relative to each other. A Rigid Group feature displays in the Timeline. If you move or apply a joint to one of the components, all of them move together in the canvas.

Edit a Rigid Group

  1. In the Timeline, right-click the Rigid Group rigid group icon feature.

  2. Select Edit Rigid Group.

    The Edit Rigid Group dialog displays.

  3. Add or remove components from the selection set.

  4. Click OK.

The components you selected selected are added to the Rigid Group. The components you deselected are removed from the Rigid Group.
