Protect an operation reference

Protect individual operations from getting invalidated when changing the model.

Fusion lets you protect individual operations from getting invalidated when changing the model. This is useful if you have operations that have already been run on the machine, and want to do rest machining from these operations while accommodating changes to the model.

To protect an operation, right-click the operation from the Browser and select Protect from the pop-context menu. Likewise, you can select Protect once more to unprotect it. Once unprotected, the operation is automatically marked invalid and must be regenerated.

Once protected, operations are shown in the Browser represented with a padlock icon.

When the model is changed, all unprotected operations are invalidated as normal, while the protected operations remain unaffected and you can continue to use the toolpath as if it is up-to-date.
