Import electronic components from a local .lbr file

Prerequisites

• Open an existing library or create a new library.

Steps

1. From the toolbar, in the Import group, click Import Components. The Import Component dialog opens.
2. In the bottom left of the dialog, click Import from local file.
3. Use the file browser to locate the .lbr files you want to import, then click Open.
4. In the Select Components to Import dialog, select the components you want to import. You can expand each library to view its components.
5. Click OK to import the selected components.
6. If duplicate component names are found, you're prompted to enter a new name for the duplicate component.

Next steps

After importing components, you can:

• Edit and modify the imported components as needed.
• Attach 3D models to the imported footprints by creating new packages.
