Import provenance
Import provenance is a record of where an imported schematic, PCB, or library came from and how Fusion translated it. Check it when you need to confirm which design tool produced a file, when it was imported, or whether the import reported warnings or errors.
View import provenance
Type IMPORTINFO in the command line of a document that came from an Altium Designer or KiCad import. Fusion reports:
- The source format and file-format version
- The source file name
- The date the source file was last modified, and the date it was imported
- How the import was triggered: the Import command, a cloud upload, the API, or opening an EAGLE file
- The import options that were used
- The Fusion version at the time of import
- The number of documents converted, and any warnings or errors
- For a project import, the schematic, PCB, and library files that contributed to the design
If a document wasn't produced by an import, IMPORTINFO reports that instead.
A document can have more than one import record. For example, if you import several KiCad libraries into the same Fusion library, IMPORTINFO lists each import in order, up to 20 records.
For command syntax, see IMPORTINFO in the command-line reference.
Limitations
Note: Fusion does not provide a dialog, panel, or icon for import provenance. IMPORTINFO is the only way to view it.
- The source file name is recorded, but the file path is not. Designs are stored in the cloud, and a local path can reveal information specific to your computer.
- Import provenance keeps only the most recent 20 import records for a document. Older records are dropped.
