Add a PTH pad array

Add a series of plated through-hole (PTH) pads to an integrated circuit (IC) or chip footprint.

  1. With an open library, click New Footprint, and choose to either draw one from scratch, or import an existing symbol as a basis.
  2. On the Library Symbol toolbar, click Place > PTH Pad Array PTH Array icon.
  3. In the PTH PAD ARRAY dialog, specify a Base Name, which is often a single letter, with or without a hyphen.
  4. Select which sides of the chip to place pins on.
  5. Select the pad shape to use.
  6. Specify the number of pins and the start index, which is often 1.
  7. Choose whether to draw a rectangular outline of the chip and whether to include >NAME and >VALUE labels.
  8. In the Pad Spacing fields, specify the X and Y distances between adjacent pads.
  9. Click OK and place the chip in the canvas.
