Create a copper pour from an outline

Copy a closed shape to create a copper pour from it. The original shape stays in the design.

You can convert the following objects:

• A board outline
• A closed shape created by lines or wires
• A polygon shape

1. On the PCB Design toolbar, click Copper Pour from Outline . A guidance message follows the cursor until you click.
2. Click the edge of a closed shape. The Convert to Copper Pour dialog opens.
3. In the Convert to Copper Pour dialog, select the copper layer you want the copper pour to be on.
4. Enter a name for the signal, then complete the dialog.

If you click an object that cannot be converted, an error message tells you that the selection is not applicable.

You can also right-click a closed shape and select Convert to Copper Pour, which opens the same dialog. See .
