2D PCBs that are linked to a 3D PCB and an Assembly design need to be synchronized in order for changes to be reflected in the linked documents.
Synchronizing 2D PCB and 3D PCB documents previously utilized a 'push' mechanism, which has been updated to a 'pull' mechanism more consistent with the update behavior in the rest of Fusion.
If you have made changes to the 2D PCB, you will see an Out-Of-Date
icon in the Application bar of the 3D PCB.
In the Application bar, click the Out-Of-Date
icon.
Review the newly generated 3D PCB based on the 2D PCB.
When you save the 3D PCB document, referenced Assembly designs will see an Out-Of-Date
icon in the Application bar.
If you have made changes to the 3D PCB or Assembly referenced by the 3D PCB, you will see an Out-Of-Date
icon in the Application bar of the 2D PCB.
If you have made change to the 3D PCB referenced by an Assembly and saved the electronics design, you will see an Out-Of-Date
icon in the Application bar of the Assembly design.
The 3D PCB will be generated according to the 3D PCB Settings. To modify these settings:
In the 3D PCB document, on the 3D PCB toolbar, click PCB > 3D PCB Settings to open the 3D PCB Settings dialog.
In the 3D PCB Settings dialog, modify the settings as needed:
Presets: Choose a view configuration
3D Geometry to Include: Select which objects to include in the 3D view (solder masks, copper traces, vias, polygons, etc.)
Components: View a list of components and identify any without associated 3D models. Select which components to include in the 3D view.
Options
Silkscreen Quality: Select from Low
, Medium
, or High ![]()
Replace Board Outline: Enabled if the board outline was edited in the 2D PCB and differs from the original sketch.
Click Update to apply the changes and close the dialog.
