Gravity load in the Generative Design workspace

A self-weight load applied to the generative model, also referred to as gravity.

It is based on the properties of materials selected for the generative study. The material density must be different from zero for gravity to affect a body.

The default gravity direction is set in the Preferences dialog, using the Default Modeling Orientation option. A yellow arrow displays at the center of the global coordinate system to indicate when gravity is enabled. Gravity is expressed in units of length per (unit time)2.

The values of standard gravitational acceleration in two popular unit systems are as follows:

• Metric (SI): 9.807 m/s2
• U.S. (in): 32.174 ft/s2.
