Replace references to data you don't want to transfer

The procedure explains how to transfer data referenced by the primary assembly. However, in some cases, you may not want to transfer this data out of its source hub. To work around this, save a new copy of the referenced data in your destination hub and reference this copy instead of the original.

  1. In Fusion, open the newly transferred project.

  2. In the browser, right-click the referenced item that you don't want to transfer and select Open.

    open

  1. Click File > Save As and save a copy of the item to a project in the hub where your primary assembly is stored.

Optional: When you save, alter the name so this copy is easy to identify.

  2. Go back to the the newly transferred project.

  3. In the browser once again, right-click the referenced item that you don't want to transfer and select Replace Component.

  4. In the warning dialog that opens, click Continue

  5. In the Replace Component dialog, navigate to the copy you saved and click Replace.

  6. Repeat these steps for any other referenced items you don't want to transfer.

Tip: Alternatively, using the Fusion web client in the source hub, copy components to a project, transfer that project to your destination hub, then replace the components in your primary assembly.
  7. Save your primary assembly.
