Insert mesh or form geometry

Learn how to insert mesh or T-Spline bodies from external files into a design in Fusion.

Insert an STL, OBJ, or 3MF file

1. In the Design workspace, Form contextual environment, select Insert > Insert Mesh.
2. Select an STL, OBJ, or 3MF file, the select Open.

Modify a quad mesh OBJ file with the Form tools

Use Convert to convert mesh bodies that have four-sided faces to T-Spline bodies.

1. After inserting an OBJ file that has four-sided faces, in the Design workspace, Form contextual environment, select Modify > Convert.
2. Change the selection filter to Mesh Body, click the mesh body, then select OK.

Insert a T-Spline file

1. In the Design workspace, Form contextual environment, select Insert > Insert T-Spline.
2. Select a TSM or TSS file, then select Open.
