Contact pairs must be defined so that loads can be transmitted between bodies as they come into contact with one another. In an Event Simulation study, contact pairs are generated automatically for every body.
By default, Global Separation Contact is activated, allowing bodies to separate from one another after they come into contact. You can adjust the Default Friction Coefficient as necessary to control how bodies slide across or separate from one another.
By default, Proximity Bonded Contact is deactivated. When activated, any bodies within the specified Proximity Distance of one another are assumed to be fully bonded. In this case, Primary Bonded Contact overrides the Global Separation Contact settings.
By default, the Allow Self Contact setting is activated, which allows a contact pair to be generated if a body comes into contact with itself. The degree to which loads are transferred across the contact pair is governed by the Stiffness Factor.
