Apply transient loads

Since Event Simulations are used to analyze dynamic events, the available load types are unique.

Transient Loads

  1. In the Simulation workspace, Setup tab, select Loads > Transient Loads transient loads icon.

  2. Select at least one Face or Edge from the display.

  3. Choose the Type from the drop-down menu. Available options are:

    • Transient Force - Applies a force to the selected object type.
    • Transient Pressure - Applies a pressure to the selected face.
  4. Select the Direction Type. Normal applies the force or pressure normal to the selected object type. Angle allows you to specify the angle relative to the selected object at which the load is applied. Vectors allows you to apply a unique value to each of the X, Y, and Z components.

Note: Direction Type is not required for Transient Pressure loads. Pressure loads are always normal to the selected face.
  5. Input the Magnitude of the load.

  6. Click the Time Dependent check box to apply a transient load and activate the Multiplier Curve feature.

  7. Click the Multiplier Curve icon multiplier curve icon to supply a transient based load curve. This allows you to adjust the magnitude of the load as the analysis progresses.

    • Under the plot, there are options to set up a load by specifying an equation type and entering the constant variables.
