Prescribed displacement constraint

A Prescribed Displacement constraint is used when the size of the load is unknown, but you know how far the object should deflect.

Apply a prescribed displacement constraint to move the model entities by a specified amount, in a specified direction(s). The direction of this displacement is determined by the axes you select. The distance is determined by the values you enter for the vector components.

Axis

You can select from 1 to 3 directions; X, Y, and Z. The options for vector specification are activated based on your selection.

Vectors

The magnitude of the displacement is specied using vector components.

• Ux: for displacement in the X direction.
• Uy: for displacement in the Y direction.
• Uz: for displacement in the Z direction.
