Create arcs in a sketch

Learn how to use the 3-Point Arc, Center Point Arc, and Tangent Arc tools to create different types of arcs in an active sketch in Fusion.

3-Point Arc

Create an arc by placing the end points and a third point that lies along the arc to define the position and size of the arc.

  1. On the Sketch contextual tab, select Create > Arc > 3-Point Arc 3-point arc icon.
  2. In the canvas, click to place the first end point of the arc.
  3. Specify a distance, then click to place the second end point of the arc.
  4. Click to place a third point that lies along the arc.
  5. Optional: Repeat steps 2-4 to create another arc.
  6. Press Enter to complete the tool.

The arcs, and any construction geometry, constraints, and dimensions that are added to them, display in the canvas.

Center Point Arc

Create an arc by placing the center point and end points to define the position and size of the arc.

  1. On the Sketch contextual tab, select Create > Arc > Center Point Arc center point arc icon.
  2. In the canvas, click to place the center point of the arc.
  3. Click to place the first end point of the arc.
  4. Click to place the second point of the arc, or specify an angle value.
  5. Optional: Repeat steps 2-4 to create another arc.
  6. Press Enter to complete the tool.

The arcs, and any construction geometry, constraints, and dimensions that are added to them, display in the canvas.

Tangent Arc

Create an arc by placing the end points to define the position and size of the arc so that it maintains tangency with other sketch geometry.

  1. On the Sketch contextual tab, select Create > Arc > Tangent Arc tangent arc icon.
  2. In the canvas, click to place the first end point of the arc to coincide with the sketch geometry that will receive the tangent constraint.
  3. Click to place the second point of the arc, or specify a radius value.
  4. Optional: Repeat steps 2-3 to create another arc.
  5. Press Enter to complete the tool.

The arcs, and any construction geometry, constraints, and dimensions that are added to them, display in the canvas.
