Manage package dependencies

When your user package uses nodes from other packages, those packages become its dependencies. Use the Manage dependencies dialog to control which published version of each dependency the package loads.

About the dialog

The dialog lists every package your package depends on. For each one it shows:

The version drop-down list shows only published versions of that package. Draft versions are excluded because they change on every save: the patch number increments each time you edit and save a node or graph file. Depending on a draft would mean the dependency version shifts unexpectedly as the author works. Published versions are stable snapshots that don't change.

Set a dependency version

  1. In the Library panel, right-click the user package name.

  2. Select Manage dependencies.

    The Manage dependencies dialog opens.

  3. For each dependency, click the version drop-down list and select the published version you want the package to use.

  4. Click Apply.

The selection is saved. The package loads the selected version of each dependency the next time it opens.
