About MACP and PACP Inspection Ratings

Once an inspection has been approved and is correctly associated to the asset, ratings are calculated based on the inspection data and the related inspection standard grading method (PACP or MACP).

For each inspected asset you can see three sets of ratings: Overall, Structure and Operation and Maintenance (O&M). You can see these ratings within each Inspection on the Details tab, or you can see a table of all asset ratings on the Condition Summary tab.

The ratings are calculated as explained for the example inspection below.

Note: When there is a letter in the quick rating, this represents a numerical range. lf the total number exceeds 9, then letters are used as follows: 10 to 14 = A, 15 to 19 = B, and 20 to 24 = C, etc.
Rating Description Values for this example
Rating Sum of all the defect grades Overall: 4+4+1 = 9

Structure: 4+4 = 8

O and M: 1

Quick Rating A shorthand way of expressing the number of occurrences for the two highest severity grades.
The four characters represent:
  1. The highest defect grade
  2. The number of defects with that grade
  3. The second-highest defect grade
  4. The number of defects with that grade
Overall: 4211

Structure: 4200

O and M: 1100

Rating Index Calculated by dividing the Overall Rating by the total number of defects Overall: 9/3 = 3

Structure: 8/2 = 4

O and M: 1/1 = 1
