Manhole inspections must be linked to their manholes before they can appear on the map or be used to calculate condition scores.
The system links Manhole Assessment and Certification Program (MACP) inspections to manhole assets by matching the
Manhole Number on the inspection to the corresponding ID in the manhole asset table. If the manhole number is missing, misspelled, or doesn't match the asset data, the inspection can't be linked.
Unlinked inspections are excluded from condition assessments and map views, which can result in incomplete or inaccurate condition data for your sewer or storm network.
Note: MACP inspections also have an
Asset ID column. It holds survey data and is always filled in, even when the inspection isn't linked. Don't edit it to fix linking. The column to correct is
Manhole Number.
Tip: To find manhole inspections that aren't correctly linked to assets, filter the inspections list using the
Linked Asset column.
Permissions
You can edit inspection details only when the inspection isn't in an approved status.
- Users with full access can edit any inspection.
- Field inspectors can edit only inspections they uploaded.
Fix a single inspection
If you only need to fix a few inspections:
- Open the inspection details page.
- Find the
Manhole Number field.
- Enter the correct manhole number.
- Save your changes.
Note: Saving changes doesn't submit the inspection or change its status.
After you save:
- A note is added to the inspection history.
- The system checks the associated manhole and updates the asset link if needed.
Fix multiple inspections at once
If you have many unlinked manhole inspections, you can fix them faster in a CSV file and upload the changes together.
- Export unlinked inspections:
- In the unlinked inspections banner, select
Fix Issues >
Export Unlinked to CSV.
- The file downloads as
inspectionData.csv.
- Update the CSV file:
- Open the file in Excel or another spreadsheet application.
- Enter the correct manhole number in the
Manhole Number column for each inspection.
- Save the file.
Important: Don't change the
Inspection ID column. The system uses it to find each inspection.
- Upload your corrections:
- In the unlinked inspections banner, select
Fix Issues >
Upload Corrections.
- Select your updated CSV file and upload it.
The CSV file must contain these columns:
| Column
|
Purpose
|
| Inspection ID
|
Used for matching. Don't change it.
|
| Manhole Number
|
The corrected manhole number.

What happens next?
After the file is uploaded, the system automatically starts the re-linking process. Any inspection whose manhole number matches a manhole in the GIS is linked to that asset.
Once an inspection is linked, it can be used in condition assessments and appears on the map.
