If you experience problems with Autodesk Assistant, check the issues below for possible causes and workarounds. Many issues with Autodesk Assistant are temporary and can be resolved quickly.
If the Assistant is not working as expected, first try starting a new chat by clicking the + button in the upper-right corner of the Assistant panel.
If the Assistant does not respond after you send a message, it may not have finished loading.
Try the following:
Wait until the Assistant panel is fully loaded before typing your message.
If the panel appears unresponsive, start a new chat by clicking + in the upper-right corner.
The window can freeze and disrupt ArcGIS Pro, preventing re-docking. Fix this by clicking the Options dropdown and selecting " Alt + - ".
Moving the cursor over the New chat button while starting a new query can cause a brief visual flicker in the Assistant panel.
This is a minor display issue and does not affect the Assistant's functionality or your results.
The clickable area of the input field may be small, which can make it harder to tap or click to start typing.
To work around this behavior, try the following:
Click or tap directly in the center of the input field.
If the field still does not activate, move the cursor slightly and click again.
Sometimes tables, lists, or other formatting in the Assistant's responses may not display correctly in the panel.
This is a known limitation, and improvements to response formatting are in progress.
The Chat History list may not show all of your past sessions. In some cases, older or less recent conversations might not appear due to system limits.
If you rely on a specific answer, consider copying important information from the chat into your own notes or project documentation.
Chat History titles are generated automatically and may sometimes be misleading or not fully describe the content of the conversation.
Currently, you cannot edit Chat History titles, and there is no direct fix for this behavior.
