Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Autodesk Assistant in InfoWater Pro, including model access, simulations, chat history, and data privacy.

What model data can Autodesk Assistant access?

Autodesk Assistant can use local tools to query data from the model you currently have open. It has access only to your chat and the model data returned by those tools, not unrestricted access to the entire model.

The tools available depend on your version of InfoWater Pro. See What Can Autodesk Assistant Do in InfoWater Pro? for details.

Can Autodesk Assistant change my model?

For the most part, no. Autodesk Assistant cannot directly modify model data.

There are a few exceptions:

Can Autodesk Assistant run simulations?

Yes. Autodesk Assistant can re-run the active simulation when you ask it to.

In InfoWater Pro 2027.2 and later, it can also test potential simulations and review summary results without changing the model or replacing existing simulation results.

Can Autodesk Assistant help troubleshoot a hydraulic simulation?

Yes, in InfoWater Pro 2027.2 and later. Autodesk Assistant can query the hydraulic simulation report, identify warnings, and help you investigate potential causes of simulation instability.

Are my previous chats saved?

Yes. Your previous conversations are stored and available in Chat History, so you can return to them later. Continuing an existing conversation can also help Autodesk Assistant maintain the context of that conversation.

Is my model or chat data used to train AI models?

No. Your model data, chat data, and prompt history are not used to train AI models.
