The Pipe Modeling tables contain all the modeling information for pipes such as length, diameter, roughness, minor loss etc. Additionally a pipe may include a Flow Totalizer or a Check Valve.
ID - The Pipe ID. This field cannot be deleted, modified or altered.
Length - Refers to the length of the pipe. This is a required field. Every pipe needs to have a length associated with it.
Diameter - Diameter of the pipe. This is also an essential field.
Roughness - The pipe roughness. This value is directly dependent on the Head-Loss equation chosen to calculate the pipe head-loss. This is a required field too.
Minor Loss - Enter the sum of the pipe minor loss coefficients (K) here. InfoWater will calculate the minor loss as (k(V*2)/2g). This is an optional field.
Totalizer - Specify the pipe to include a flow totalizer here. InfoWater will calculate the net forward and backward flow through this pipe. This is an optional field as well. Click here for more information on Flow Totalizers.
CHK_VALVE - Specify here a pipe to include a check valve. A check valve will allow flow in only one direction from the Upstream node (From Node) to the Downstream node (To Node). This is an optional field. Click here for more information on Check valves.
