Default Symbols

The Default Symbols tab is used to adjust the default shape, size, and color (graphical appearance) of symbols used to represent InfoWater Pro elements in the map display.

To change default symbols, go to the InfoWater Pro tab  > Project group, click on the  Preferences   button, and then select the Default Symbol tab in the dialog box.

Resetting Symbols to Default

To reset layer symbols to the default, check the boxes near desired layers and click Reset to Default. The Select All and Unselect All can help with bulk selections.

Note: The default symbols for InfoWater Pro layers was updated in version 2027.0, but previously created models will not inherit these new changes. Any models made before this version will need to be manually reset to the new default.

Applying Rotation on Pump and Valve Symbols

Pump and valve symbol layers support dynamic angle rotation, active in the 2027 defaults. To update the map with each pump and valve's rotation angle, select the Refresh Map tool in the View section of the ribbon.

Customizing each Symbol Layer

To customize symbols, click the symbol type to open the Symbol Selector window. It offers updated options for primary color, size, and rotation.

Access new custom symbols by saving them to Favorites from the Symbology tool or loading stylx files into your project. These symbols will then appear in the Symbol Selector for use in InfoWater Pro.

Note that not all advanced symbol settings are supported as default symbols within InfoWater Pro.

The Edit button provides additional options for configuring custom symbols if desired.

OK - Click OK to save and exit from the Preferences dialog box.

Cancel - Exits without saving from the Preferences dialog box.
