The Output Relate option is used to establish the relationship between modeling input data and simulation output results. Once a relate (link) is established, you can then apply queries against the current project based on modeling inputs and simulation output results simultaneously. For a detailed explanation on the Output Relate methodology and its applicability in InfoWater Pro click here.
To create or modify an Output Relate:
Automatic Update: You can update the output relates based on the last run completed by selecting on this checkbox. When this option is ON (checked), the relate table will be automatically updated every time you run a simulation when the relate’s Target Scenario and Target Simulation are active. For example, you define a relate based on the BASE Standard (hydraulic and water quality) simulation and then set this option to ON. The next time you load the BASE scenario and run a Standard simulation the contents of the relate table are automatically updated with the most recent simulation results. If this option is OFF, the relate table contains simulation result data from when the relate was created or at the time you last updated the relate contents by choosing one of the buttons at the bottom of this dialog box. If you re-run the simulation (BASE Standard in the example above), the results from the previous run remain in the relate table.
DB Query Toolbar:
New - Creates a new folder.
Clone - Clones the existing folder to a new folder.
Pack Data - Packs the database table tied to the folder. Once packed, a deleted folder cannot be recalled.
Recall - Recalls a folder that has been deleted.
ID Counter - Use this to specify the ID options.
Edit Description - Edits the description of the folder.
Reset - Resets all options in the folder to their default values.
Delete - Deletes the folder from the dialog box. Pack will permanently delete the folder from the hard disk (unless autopack is turned on).
Save - Saves the present state of the folder.
Save As Default - Overwrites the InfoWater defaults with the new ones.
OK - Saves all changes and exits the dialog box.
Cancel - Discards all unsaved changes and exits the dialog box.
Target Scenario: Choose ACTIVE scenario to use the current scenario. Most users will choose the ACTIVE scenario for the Target Scenario. If you wish to limit the output relate to a single specific scenario, then select that scenario from the drop-down menu.
Target Simulation: You have four options to choose from the drop-down menu. The output data available for the query will depend on which type of output is selected.
Desired Output Report: The available tabular reports are specific and based on your selected output type in the Target Simulation field. You can select a single output report that is available for that simulation type. The reports are identical to the tabular reports seen in the Report Manager for that specific output type. Go to the following help page for more information: see Desired Output Report.
Desired Report Page: Enter the page number in the provided field.
Output relates store simulation results for a single simulation time period. There are two methods by which you may select an extended period simulation time period for which simulation results will be written to the output report table:
Report Page - Choose the extended period simulation report timestep by its index (page) number. The first simulation timestep is page/index 0 (zero), the second simulation timestep is page/index 1, and so on. Use this option when there are no available simulation timesteps.
Available Timesteps - Choose the extended period simulation report timestep by its clock time from the beginning of the simulation. Timesteps are not available until you have successfully run a simulation of the selected Target Simulation type for the selected Target Scenario. If your hydraulic timestep is more than 1, the available timesteps may not match the report page. For example if your hydraulic timestep is two hours, the following relationship exists between report page and available timesteps:
Report Page |
Available Timestep |
0 |
0:00 hr |
1 |
2:00 hr |
2 |
4:00 hr |
Use the Simulation Time option under the Operation Data tab under the Modeling Browser to specify hydraulic, report, and other extended period simulation time steps.
Update Current Relate Now - Updates the contents of the output relate table with simulation results from the most recent run of the associated Target Simulation Type for the associated Target Scenario. Simulation results are written for the associated Report Page or Report Time step.
Update All - Updates the contents of all currently defined output relate tables with simulation results from the most recent run of each output relates’ associated Target Simulation Type for each associated Target Scenario. Simulation results are written for the associated Report Page or Report Timestep.
