Simple Control

A Simple Control allows you to modify the status of elements (pipe, pump, or valve) during a hydraulic simulation - depending on the state of some other elements in the system.

For example, actual field operations may consist of having a pump turn on and off depending on the high and low water levels in a storage tank. To model this type of situation, you can place a number of simple controls on the elements with operation change. Simple controls are applied to both steady state and extended period simulations.

To enter simple controls, do the following to bring up the Simple Control dialog box.

Method - As with any water system, action settings can be established in the telemetered system in many ways.  The options here allow you to control an open, closed, or partially open condition by: The hour of the simulation run time for which a Pipe, Pump or a Valve is to change its status.

Purge - Choose this to erase and purge the current control.

Update - Use this to update, change, or modify an existing Control. To create a New control, use the Insert button.

Cancel - Use this to Cancel the changes and modifications made to the dialog box and exit.
