While the Scheduler run is in progress, the status of the evaluation is reported in the Simulation dialog box. If the simulation run was unsuccessful, a descriptive message will appear in the message area explaining what needs to be corrected in the input data.
Trial Progress
Current Trial - The current iteration number in the optimization routine. Each trial represents a new calculated set of operating control rules.
Maximum Trial - The maximum number of solution iterations that Scheduler will analyze when determining the pump, valve, and pipe scheduling. The most trials allowed is 50,000. Each evolution of an individual (in the solution population) is a trial.
Fitness of current Generation
Maximum - The maximum value of the objective function in the current set of solutions (generation).
Minimum - The minimum value of the objective function in the current set of solutions (generation).
Average - The average value of the objective function in the current set of solutions (generation).
Current Best Performance
Pump Cost - Pumping cost for the best solution reached in the specified number of iterations.
Source Cost - Pump Switching Cost - Source cost for the best solution reached in the specified number of iterations.
Valve Switching Cost - Valve switching cost for the best solution reached in the specified number of iterations.
Pipe Switching Cost - Pipe switching cost of the best solution reached in the specified number of iterations.
Tank End Level Violation - The tank end level constraint violation for the best solution reached in the specified number of iterations.
Tank Target Level Violation - Time-weighted summation of the tank target level constraint violation for the best solution reached in the specified number of iterations.
Tank Level Violation - Time-weighted summation of the tank level constraint violation for the best solution reached in the specified number of iterations.
Pressure Violation - Time-weighted summation of the junction pressure constraint violation for the best solution reached in the specified number of iterations.
Flow Violation - Time-weighted summation of the pump, valve and pipe flow constraint violation for the best solution reached in the specified number of iterations.
Velocity Violation - Time-weighted summation of the pipe velocity constraint violation for the best solution reached in the specified number of iterations.
Water Age Violation - Time-weighted summation of the junction water age constraint violation for the best solution reached in the specified number of iterations.
Simulation Performance
Fitness Threshold - The convergence criterion entered in the input data section for the optimization routine.
Best Fitness Reached - The best value of the objective function reached based on the user-selected convergence criteria.
Result Time Stamp - Time corresponding to the optimization completion.
Message Board
This section of the Scheduler dialog box will display a message upon successful completion of the commands that have been activated or pertinent error messages to the simulation.
