System Schematic

The system schematic gives you a detailed view to show you a connection between different pressure zones and network elements (e.g., tank, reservoir, valve, pump, etc.) within your water distribution network model.

System Schematic is an extension of Pressure Zone Manager (PZM).

To create a system schematic in InfoWater Pro:

  1. First, run a PZM model before you create a system schematic graph. Go to Apps  > PZM  to run a PZM model.
  2. Next, click on the System Schematic button from your InfoWater Pro ribbon.
  3. You may need to click on the Layout Settings button to set your format of the schematic graph to make it more clear to see. Click on Automatically Calculate the Spacing of Pressure Zone to deselect this feature in the Schematic Layout Settings dialog box to format the schematic graph.

  4. Choose Elevation View to show the brief connection between the pressure zones and the elements.

    • Zoom In - You can zoom in with the Zoom In button.
    • Zoom Out - You can zoom out with the Zoom Out button.
    • Select - This button is the default tool for this graph. If you click on one pressure zone or an element, it will color code the map in the corresponding model.
    • Fit to Document - You will zoom to the whole system schematic panel.
    • Save Current Graph - You can save the current graph settings into an XML file for you to later load.
    • Open Existing Diagram - You can load an existing diagram with this button. You can only load the XML file with your current project or else it will be invalid.
    • Print - You can print out a schematic graph.
    • Clear Code - If you created a color coded map, click on this button to reset the rendering of the map.
    • Auto Zoom - If you click on the Auto Zoom button, you will automatically zoom into this selected pressure zone or network element map extent. If you deselect, you will zoom out of the selected element.
    • Layout Settings - With the Layout Settings button, you can set the format of the schematic graph.
    • Show Details - Select a pressure zone in the schematic graph, and then click on Show Details button to see a Details panel to your right.
  5. Choose the Connection View to show the connections between pressure zones.
