Geometry of Girder Ends

Control of the geometry of the girders extremities is now provided.

In the previous releases of InfraWorks, in the horizontal plane, the geometry of the girders ends was always exactly matching the pier/abutment centerline. In the vertical plane, the ends of the girders were always perpendicular to the deck. Starting with the 2026 release, you can decide in which way the girders extremities have to be skewed in both horizontal and vertical planes, in order to adapt any design.

How does it work?

Once you have created a bridge, you can select either an individual girder or a girders group to access the new geometry controls.

In the horizontal plane, the ends of girders can either:

In the vertical plane, the ends of girders can either:

Girders Extremities

If you want to use those controls on an existing bridge, created in a previous release of InfraWorks, you first need to enable the vertical pier placement through the properties stack of the bridge (Use vertical pier placement).
