You can export model data to use in applications such as Audodesk 3ds Max, Navisworks, and other popular exchange formats. If you are working between InfraWorks and Autodesk Civil 3D, or InfraWorks and ArcGIS, see the section below on enhancements to these data exchange workflows.
Export to | To use in |
---|---|
IMX | Autodesk Civil 3D (However: see section below) |
FBX | Autodesk 3ds Max |
FBX | Autodesk Navisworks |
OBJ (Wavefront) | many 3D Authoring tools |
DAE (Colladaâ„¢) | many 3D authoring tools |
FGDB (File Geodatabase) | ArcGIS |
Although you can still use the Export to IMX tool to prepare and make available data for use in Autodesk Civil 3D, it is recommended that you use the new enhancements to this exchange. They include the ability to open all or part of an InfraWorks model from within Autodesk Civil 3D, with much of the mapping of objects (configuration) from one application to the other completed for you. See About Exchanging Data with Autodesk Civil 3D.
You can save back, publish, or export to FGDB in order to bring InfraWorks data into ArcGIS. See About the Autodesk Connector for ArcGIS.
