To add generic objects

Sketch generic objects in a model or proposal. Generic parametric components can be placed on the terrain, as well as at any station or offset along a bridge or road.

Generic objects are parametric parts that were created in Autodesk Inventor. See About Authoring Infrastructure Content for help creating generic objects in Inventor and importing them into the Style Palette.

  1. Click Create glyph Structure glyph generic object (Generic Object).
  2. Select a generic object component from the catalog that displays and click OK.
  3. Single-click at a point on the terrain, a bridge, or a roadway, to add a single generic feature object at that location.
  4. You can use the editing grips and gizmos to resize and reposition the generic object at anytime.
