About Tunnel Design

Autodesk Tunnel Design for InfraWorks gives you the tools to model and design parametric tunnels in the context of your overall infrastructure design project. You can use parametric tunnel components available in the Style Palette, or create custom parametric tunnel components in Autodesk Inventor then add them to the InfraWorks Style Palette.

Design tunnels in your InfraWorks projects. There are a number of parametric tunnel components available to use in the Style Palette. Navigate to the Parametric Models tab and explore the Tunnel and Tunnel Segments style catalogs. Tunnels can only be added to component roads. Once a tunnel is added to a component road, you can modify the tunnel's geometry and attributes in-canvas and in the Stack.

Note: By contrast, the tunnels that can be created as planning road styles are for conceptual visualization, and do not support advanced vertical and horizontal tunnel geometry.

Review material quantities

Use the quantities tool to review material quantities for a selected tunnel or individual tunnel component.

Review and modify attributes

Review and modify tunnel and tunnel segments in the Stack. Choose from a catalog of parametric component parts for tunnel segments

Author Parametric Tunnel Sections

Use the Infrastructure Part Shape Utilities tools for Autodesk Inventor to export parametric models for use in InfraWorks tunnel design. Tunnel sections from Inventor are extruded along the length of the tunnel to create tunnel segments. See About Parametric Bridge and Tunnel Components.

Advanced capabilities

Send your tunnel design to Autodesk Revit. See To send a tunnel to Autodesk Revit.
