Deck Parameter Reference

Decks are always extruded between their slices.

Parameter Description Content Parameter Parametric Value InfraWorks Set/Read Inventor Revit
Has haunches HasHaunches Specifies whether or not the deck contains haunches. Either True or False. No No Not applicable
Has middle haunch with no straddling taper HasMiddleHaunchWithNoStraddlingTaper Specifies the deck has an alignment straddling middle haunch that is not included as one of the specified MaxHaunches. Yes/No No Not applicable
Inner haunch width InnerHaunchWidth The maximum top width of all the inner and middle girders. No/Yes No Not applicable
Interior left girder offset InteriorLeftGirderOffset Lateral offsets of the interior left girders in right to left order (InteriorLeftGirder1Offset is for the innermost left girder). The parameter is named sequentially in the position of the name. Out of sequence parameters will be ignored. No/Yes No Not applicable
Interior right girder offset InteriorRightGirderOffset Lateral offsets of the interior left girders in left to right order (InteriorRightGirder1Offset is for the innermost right girder). The parameter is named sequentially in the position of the name. Out of sequence parameters will be ignored. No/Yes No Not applicable
Left deck slope in percentage LeftDeckSlopeInPercentage The lateral slope of the road underside to the left of the alignment. No/Yes No Not applicable
Left most girder offset LeftMostGirderOffset The lateral offset of leftmost girder. No/Yes No Not applicable
* Left width from center LeftWidth The distance from the deck alignment to the left edge of the road. No/Yes No Not applicable
Max haunches MaxHaunches The maximum number of haunches allowed for the deck. This quantity excludes a middle haunch. Yes/No No Not applicable
Mid haunch offsets from crown MidHaunchOffsetsFromCrown Lateral offset of the middle girder (if any). No/Yes No Not applicable
Number of left girders NumberOfLeftGirders The number of interior and exterior left girders in the deck span. No/Yes No Not applicable
Number of right girders NumberOfRightGirders The number of interior and exterior right girders in the deck span. No/Yes No Not applicable
Outer haunch width OuterHaunchWidth The maximum top width of all the outer girders No/Yes No Not applicable
Right deck slope in percentage RightDeckSlopeInPercentage The lateral slope of the road underside to the right of the alignment. No/Yes No Not applicable
Right most girder offset RightMostGirderOffset The lateral offset of rightmost girder. No/Yes No Not applicable
* Right width from center RightWidth The distance from the deck alignment to the right edge of the road. No/Yes No Not applicable
Note: The single asterisk "*" indicates that a parameter is a geometry parameter that is required, and has been marked as a 'key' parameter in Autodesk Inventor.

Deck Placement

Deck origins are defined by both lateral and vertical dimensions.

Deck Width

LeftWidth and RightWidth allow the deck edges to follow road edges.

Internal slices are created at the points where either road edge changes direction in regard to the alignment. This allows the deck edges to follow road edges without the needing to manually place slices at all of these points.

Haunches

Haunch parameters align haunches with the girders below the deck.

Haunches are only aligned with non-superelevated girders (MatchGirderTopSlopesToDeckSlopes=false). Superelevated girders are ignored. If the number of non-superelevated girders in a span exceeds the maximum number of haunches (MaxHaunches) then the span is treated as if haunches are turned off.

Matching Haunches to Girders

When defining haunches, note the following rules:
