When bored ring tunnels are added, the rings are generated, inserted, and rotated to best follow the geometry of the host component road. The ring segment seams should not align with seams of adjacent rings which would result in possible structural weaknesses.
To avoid this, you can apply seam staggering to bored ring tunnel.
Note: This is enabled by default for the provided rings (RFA and Inventor).
This threshold defines the minimum degrees of rotation a seam must be from an adjacent segment seam. Consecutive seams within this value are considered aligned so the next ring will be re-rotated to conform to the tolerance.
Parameter | Description |
---|---|
Stagger segment seams | Enables the segment lining seam tolerance processing for the bored tunnel. |
Insertion angle | (Read Only) The insertion andangle of the key segment of the tunnel. |
Key segment start angle | (Read Only) The angle position around the ring from where the key segment starts. This is measured from the middle of the starting seam. |
Key segment end angle | (Read Only) The angle position around the ring from where the key segment ends. This is measured from the middle of the ending seam. |
Lining seam tolerance | Two seams from successive rings are considered aligned if they fall within this rotation tolerance. The next successive ring will then rotate outside of this tolerance. |
