Mudbox Installation and Licensing

You can install Mudbox on a single host or a network server. Earlier versions do not need to be uninstalled before a new version can be installed. You can have multiple versions of Mudbox installed simultaneously.

If you uninstall a previous version of Mudbox before installing a new version, the license type and product activation method may differ between the two versions, and you may need to reactivate the product.

Mudbox can be installed in English, French, German, or Japanese.

Note: Mudbox 2024 runs on both Intel and Apple Silicon architectures.

You may be prompted to install Rosetta 2 when you install Mudbox on an Apple Silicon machine. Because the installer is built to run on Intel architectures, Rosetta 2 is required to run the Mudbox installer on Apple Silicon. Once you install Rosetta 2 you will not be prompted to install Rosetta 2 again.

The default installation paths for Mudbox are:

Windows	C:\Program Files\Autodesk\<MudboxVersion>
Linux	/usr/autodesk/<MudboxVersion>
macOS	/Applications/Autodesk/<MudboxVersion>/

Important: Before installing Mudbox, verify that your system meets the minimum system requirements and your hardware meets the minimum requirements to run Mudbox.
