You can import and export editorial files to help set up, edit, and refine a sequence of shots in the
Sequencer editor.
Import editorial content
To import editorial content:
- From the Sequencer editor menu bar, do one of the following:
- To import a file without setting additional options, select
File > Import Editorial. In the Import browser, select the XML FCP file to load.
- To import a file and set additional options, select

Note: Note: When you import an editorial file, if Maya cannot locate associated movie or sound files using the paths specified in the editorial file, it searches for them in the Movie and Sound project locations. These locations are defined in the
Project Window.
You can edit the Movie and Sound project locations to point to a different directory. This is useful, for example, when importing editorial files created on a different operating system or file system.
Export editorial content
To export editorial content:
- From the Sequencer editor menu bar, do one of the following:
- To export without setting additional options, select
File > Export Editorial.
- To export and set additional options, select
