Transform anchors and tangents

To move anchors or tangents on a Bezier curve

  1. Select the Move Tool ().
  2. Right-click the curve and choose Control Vertex.
  3. Select the anchors or tangents you want to edit and use the manipulator to move them.
    Tip:

    With an anchor selected you can press the Up and Down Arrow keys to select an anchor’s tangent points as well as adjacent anchors.

You can use the Bezier Curve Tool to move tangents while maintaining the current tangent angle (the angle between the two tangents).

To move tangents while maintaining tangent angles

  1. Select Create > Curve Tools > Bezier Curve Tool.
  2. Select the anchor corresponding to the tangent you want to move.
  3. Shift + drag the tangent.

    The tangent moves but only in the direction that preserves the tangent angle.

To scale tangents on a Bezier curve

  1. Select the Scale tool ().
  2. Right-click the curve and choose Control Vertex.
  3. Select the anchor attached to the tangents you want to scale and use the manipulator to scale them.
