Note: Every model in the scene that uses the material whose layers are shown will have freezing applied to it.
To freeze based on a paint layer
- Right-click a paint layer, or open the Paint layer menu () and select Freeze from Selected.
The mesh is frozen based on the levels of luminance in each area. Areas of low luminance (black) receive more freezing, and areas of high luminance (white) less freezing. Areas with no paint (transparent areas) are completely frozen.
Tip: To preview the luminance values of a paint layer before you apply freezing, open the
Adjust Color window (
Adjust Color) and set
Greyscale to
Use luminance. Click
Cancel when you're finished previewing the luminance values.
To invert the freeze
- Select Edit > Invert Freeze (Shift+I).
