Set up workflow reminders

You can configure workflow states to send reminder notifications to approvers when a workflow transition is pending. Reminders are configured in the State Properties dialog in the Workflow Editor.

You can set reminders to occur every 1 to 30 days, with the option to include or exclude weekends. Each reminder can repeat up to 9 times. For example, you can configure a reminder to be sent every 2 days, including weekends, and repeat 5 times.

Set up a reminder

  1. In the workflow mapping grid, double-click the state for which you want to send reminders.

    The State Properties dialog opens.

  2. On the General tab, select Reminder Notifications.

  3. In the Every drop-down list, select how often the reminder is sent (1–30 days).

  4. (Optional) Select Include Weekends to include weekends in the reminder schedule.

  5. In the Repeat field, specify how many times the reminder is sent (1-9 times).

  6. Click anywhere outside the dialog to close it.

Repeat these steps for any additional states that require reminders, then click Save on the toolbar when complete.
