Configure workspace behaviors

Workspace behaviors let you automatically perform certain actions when a specific event occurs in a workspace. For example, you can configure a behavior that triggers an Action script whenever a new item is created in that workspace. In this case, the workspace event is the creation of a new item, and the associated behavior runs the Action script.

You can assign Action scripts to run when any of the following events occur:

A new workspace item is created
Item details are modified
A user triggers an on-demand script in the workspace

Note: Users must have read/write permissions in that workspace to run on-demand scripts. On-demand scripts are not available for items in a locked workflow state.

Configure a behavior

From the main menu, go to Administration > Workspace Manager.
In the Workspace Manager, select the workspace you want to configure.
In the left-side panel, click Behaviors.

The Behaviors page opens.
Use the drop-down lists to select an action script for each event.

Note: Only action scripts are available for selection in the drop-down list. You can configure multiple scripts to run on demand. After you select an on-demand script, an additional row appears so you can add another action. To remove an on-demand script, click the X icon. On demand scripts are made available to users in the RUn menu in the workspace page header.
Click Save.
