To Work with Contours

Contours are useful to create structural elements such as floors or panels.

Draw a Contour with Segments

  1. Click Model Structural elements, and then select Floor or Panel.
  2. In the Mode panel, click Contour Segment Segment.
  3. Click in the drawing area to specify the start point of the contour.
  4. Specify additional segments as needed.
  5. Click the start point again to close the contour.

Draw a Contour with an Arc by specifying three points

  1. Click Model Structural elements, and then select Floor or Panel.
  2. In the Mode panel, click Contour Arc 3 points Arc: begin, middle point, end.
  3. Click in the drawing area to specify the start point of the arc.
  4. Move the cursor, and then click to specify the length of the chord.
  5. Specify the end point of the arc.
  6. Click the start point again to close the contour.

Draw a Contour with a Start-End-Middle Point Arc

  1. Click Model Structural elements, and then select Floor or Panel.
  2. In the Mode panel, click Contour Arc start, end, radius Arc: begin, end, middle point.
  3. Click in the drawing area to specify the start point of the arc.
  4. Move the cursor, and then click to specify the endpoint of the arc.
  5. Move the cursor again, and then click to specify the middle point of the arc.
  6. Click the start point again to close the contour, and then click another point to create the counterpart of the arc.

Example
