A thickness that you assign to a surface element is a set of properties saved under a user-defined name (label). Use the Thickness dialog to edit and add these sets of thickness properties.
You can define two thickness types using the Thickness dialog:
- Homogeneous. It is a thickness with standard properties.
- Orthotropic. It is a thickness with advanced properties. Use this thickness to account for the structural orthotropy of surface elements.

Thickness dialog:
- Select Model
Attributes
Thickness.
- On the Thickness tab, do one of the following:
- Click the
icon next to the thickness list.
- Expand the thickness list, and select Add New...
- Click the
- Select Model
