To Sketch a Bar

1. Click Model Structural Elements Bars.

   The Mode and Bar Properties panels display in the ribbon.

2. In the Bar Properties panel:
   • Select a material for the bar.
   • Select a section, or select Add New to create a new one.

     Optionally, click if you want to edit the current section properties.

3. In the Mode panel:
   Note: By default, the Chain mode is active if you used it the last time when sketching bars.
   • Select Chain to continuously place bars in succession. The endpoint of a bar becomes the start point of the next one. Press Esc to complete chain placing bars.
   • Deselect Chain to draw separate bars.
4. Draw the bar by clicking the start point and endpoint in the drawing area. The cursor snaps to other structural elements when you draw the bar.
