Use the Orthotropy Direction dialog to define the main direction of a orthotropy. The main direction is the direction equivalent to the xx direction in the stiffness matrix. The defined vector is projected on the panel plane.

Direction X on the
Orthotropic tab in the Thickness dialog.
Define the main orthotropy direction:
- Automatic. Select this option to adopt the direction of the X axis of the panel as the main orthotropy direction.
- According to X, Y, or Z axis. Select one of these options to adopt the direction parallel to a selected axis of the global coordinate system as the main orthotropy direction.
- According to vector. Select this option to adopt the direction parallel to a defined vector with the coordinates (X, Y, Z) as the main orthotropy direction. You can specify vector coordinates in the drawing area.
