Forma Takeoff has introduced new carbon accounting features (in BETA). These features can help project teams and owners make informed decisions to minimize environmental impact, optimize resource use, and achieve sustainability goals for their project.

Key features of the BETA carbon accounting experience in Takeoff include:
Embodied carbon (A1-A3) mapping to EC3 - When using MasterFormat classifications for takeoff, the relevant A1-A3 carbon values from EC3 (Embodied Carbon in Construction Calculator) will be associated to takeoff outputs automatically.
Mapped embodied carbon values include the achievable estimate (embodied carbon value from the 20th percentile of all products in EC3 within the provided material category) and conservative estimate (embodied carbon value from the 80th percentile of all products in EC3 within the provided material category) from EC3. Takeoff uses the conservative estimate to generate calculations.
A Takeoff project must use classifications based on MasterFormat to take advantage of the automatic carbon value mapping. Learn more in Setting Up Carbon Accounting in Takeoff.
Embodied carbon in the Takeoff inventory - Embodied carbon (A1-A3) data will be viewable in your Takeoff inventory.
