Access Autodesk Tandem Free
Creating a new Tandem Free account
You can try Autodesk Tandem free by signing up on the Autodesk Tandem Webpage and going through the process below:
- Navigate to the product page and sign-in using your Autodesk ID.
- On the product page select Autodesk Tandem Free and/or Autodesk Tandem Connect Free and add to cart. Monthly is the only option available.
- Go through the checkout process. You will be asked to enter your contact details and payment information. Don’t worry, you will not be charged.
- Return to manage.autodesk.com. You will see new cards for Tandem Free and Tandem Connect Free on the Home page. You will also see Tandem Free – Legacy, which is your existing account.

Transitioning from Tandem Legacy Free to a new Tandem Free account
Beginning on February 9th, 2026, Autodesk Tandem is transitioning to a new capacity-based structure to give users greater flexibility and control over their data. In addition, IoT data management is being simplified by moving from counting streams to counting data points, which represent the number of readings captured at a set frequency and stored over a defined period. This change ensures more accurate usage tracking and cost transparency, making it easier to manage and optimize data usage.
To make this transition as easy as possible, there are several options to choose from:
- Move facilities to an existing paid account if your organization already has Tandem subscriptions or an Autodesk enterprise agreement.
- Purchase a new paid account.
- Migrate your data to the new Tandem Free and Tandem Connect Free accounts.
Follow the steps at the top of the page to create a new free account, then verify that you see the new cards in Autodesk Accounts.
Once you’ve verified that you have both a new free and Legacy free account, and you want to preserve your data, you can use Facility Transfer to transfer your data between your legacy to your new free account.
