Perform BOM structural changes under the Effective date filter

You may perform these operations that result in BOM structural changes under the Effective date filter. The following table describes the conditions under which BOM structural changes are permitted; and if permitted, what the expected results are.

Note: The indicates that an item only exists within the project’s Effective date.

Operation	Conditions	Result
> New version	Item is Released and without . Item's direct-parent (without ) is in Development.	New version of the item is created without .
> New version	Item with is Released, or Released_External. Item's direct-parent (without ) is Released, or Released_External.	New version of the item is created with . The item exists outside of the BOM structure from which the New Version operation was performed.
> New version	Item's direct-parent is Obsolete. Item's direct-parent (with ) is in Development.	You cannot create a New Version.
> Create > Item	Item's direct-parent (with or without ) is in Development.	New item is created.
> Create > Item	Item's direct-parent (with or without ) is Released, Released_External, or Obsolete.	Item cannot be created.
> Paste You can copy any item.	Item's direct-parent (with or without ) is in Development.	You can paste.
> Paste You can copy any item.	Item's direct-parent (with or without ) is Released, Released_External, or Obsolete.	You cannot paste.

Note: > New Version has its own feature flag. You can request to have this operation enabled independently of > Create > Item and Paste operations.
