You may send individual parts, assemblies, subassemblies, end-items, and even multiple parts from different assemblies/subassemblies through a change request (CR). The CR workflow determines what the item's status is at the end of the workflow. For example, an item can be Released or made Obsolete.
While the CR workflow progresses, tasks are assigned to various team members. Any objects, such as documents associated with the item, are automatically included in the CR.
When the CR completes, and if an item in the CR has associated non-CAD documents, then the document's numbering is updated.
For example:
DOC-10054-XX-crankSpecs.xlxsDOC-10055-XX-crankSpecs.xlxsYou may create a new CR in the Upchain web app, or from the CAD plugin.
. The newly created CR opens and may be found in Upchain, Business Processes > Change requests.
You may proceed to configure any additional settings in the CR.
Items in a CR display a BOM structural lock next to their status in the BOM table and CAD plugins. This prevents any structural changes to the BOM.
