Clone a document or folder

The Clone function copies a document or folder from one location to another and assigns it a new document number. You can paste a cloned document under a category or as the child of a folder within a category.

Clone a document or folder

  1. Click the chevrons (chevron.png) beside the category and folders until you locate the document or folder you want to clone.

  2. Beside this document or folder, click more actions (action_menu.png).

  3. Select Clone from the drop-down menu.

    The document or folder is saved to your clipboard.

  4. Locate the category or folder you want to paste the document or folder into.

  5. Click more actions (action_menu.png) to the left of the category or folder.

  6. Select Paste from the drop-down menu.

The document or folder is pasted under the category. Pasted documents are assigned a new document number. For pasted folders that contain documents, all documents in that folder are assigned a new document number as well.

You may clone a document or folder from Quick Search results. To do this:

  1. Search for a document or folder using Quick Search.

  2. Locate the document or folder in the search results table.

  3. Beside the document or folder you want to clone, click copy (search_copy_icon.png).

    The document or folder is saved to your clipboard.

  4. Navigate to the documents view of your project and locate the category or folder you want to paste the document or folder into.

  5. Click more actions (action_menu.png) to the left of the category or folder.

  6. Select Paste from the drop-down menu.

The document or folder is pasted under the category or folder. Pasted documents are assigned a new document number. For pasted folders that contain documents, all documents in that folder are assigned a new document number as well.
