Quick search in the CAD plugin
The Upchain CAD plugin enables you to perform cross-project searches for items and CAD files that have been added to Upchain by you and your team. The quick search function is a quick way to search for the latest item versions relevant to your search criteria.
Perform a quick search
- Click the search icon (
) to the top-right of the context selector. - Type in an item's name or number. These may be partial entries if you do not know the entire attribute's value.
- Press Enter.
The latest version of all items that match your entered phrase are listed, including those that belong to projects of which you are not a team member.
Should you want to download a specific version of an item, you need to use Advanced Search.
If you want to clear the search results and start again, click Clear search.
Review the search results
From the search results you may click each item to view its detail in the Lower Pane.
show.items.from.private.projects.in.search, then items from private projects appear in search results but you will not be able to view its details or perform any actions on it. Perform further actions on an item from the search results
Once you have located the item you want to use, you may either right-click and select Open or Check out.
You may also perform additional functions on the item from the search results, including:
- Adding it to the cart.
- Creating an Investigation Request or task.
- Marking it as one of your favorite items.
- Run the BOM Anomaly tool to check for cBOM/eBOM anomalies.
