Overview

Fixed issues and new features in the 24.1 release of Upchain are summarized here by date.

Upgrade the CAD Plugin

You may upgrade your CAD Plugin to 24.1.0.0034 to receive the newest capabilities. Upchain Web 24.1.0.1270 is backward compatible with the CAD Plugin version 22.2.

The latest version of the Upchain CAD Connector is available for download on the Plugins page immediately following the service update made to the maintenance window.

• Improved the logic and fixed the issue that resulted in incorrect information on cBOMs.

eBOM Bulk Export

• Improved the logic for exporting translations during an eBOM Bulk Export. Exported translation versions will now match the version of the model or drawing. This means that if a model or drawing doesn't have a translations with the same version, then the translation won't be exported. Previously, we would export existing translations from previous versions of the model or drawing.

  The following are known cases where incorrect files may be exported:

  • When an item has several drawings and translations all share the same name because the tenant property item.name.in.translation.name is enabled.
  • When the eBOM tree contains multiple versions of the same item.
  • When files are renamed to include the item number and revision and there are multiple drawings and translations on the same item.

Plugins

• We have introduced a new process for signing into all plugins (CAD, Generic, Office, Outlook, and CAD importer). Click Sign-in with Autodesk ID to sign in with your Autodesk credentials using a browser. If you're already signed into other Autodesk products, such as Inventor or AutoCAD, you won't need to sign in again.

  Note:
  • If you do not have an Autodesk ID or are using a legacy version of Upchain, you'll need to click Sign-in with Upchain ID.
  • If you sign out of an Upchain plugin, you will not be signed out of any other Upchain or Autodesk applications. However, if you sign out of an Autodesk product you'll be signed out of all Upchain and Autodesk applications as well.

CAD

• Due to an issue, the warning message that shows when you attempt to check out a file version while another file version is already checked out is temporarily disabled.

Inventor

• Fixed an issue where the plugin couldn't read the file structure for Inventor versions older then 2022.2.

SolidWorks

• Fixed an issue where PDF / DWG translations wouldn't be generated during a check-in because the drawing file name was saved into the system with upper case letters.

Plugins

AutoCAD

• Mapped attributes are now supported in AutoCAD. It is now possible to setup Read and Write custom attributes which will be mapped to specific custom properties on an AutoCAD file.

CAD

• Fixed an issue where another file version of a checked out file could be checked out by other users.

• You are now notified with a warning message if you try to open the BOM anomalies from the Project BOM window for assemblies or their parent assemblies locked with an Edit and Checkout lock. The BOM anomalies window will not open.

• You are notified with a warning message if you try to open the BOM anomalies window from the Project BOM for assemblies locked with an Edit lock. The BOM anomalies window will open, but the OK button will be disabled.

• When the BOM anomalies window is open for an assembly with sub-assemblies that are locked by an Edit lock, anomalies will not be shown for locked sub-assemblies.

• Modified the way snapshots are uploaded into the system to optimize memory consumption and reduce potential memory issues during a check in.

• Fixed an issue where the Cancel / Checkout buttons would hide after using the search feature.

• During a check in, the BOM wizard now correctly shows greyed out icons for items removed from the assembly in the cBOM view.

• Improved localization accuracy and added missing translations. Messages shown previously in English are now shown in the correct language.

• Fixed an issue where the stale report PDF file was empty after download.

• Fixed an issue where item locks were hanging in the following case:

  • When you downloaded an older version of a drawing and canceled the checkout on it.
  • When you cleared checkout locks for the model via My Locked Objects in the CAD plugin My Workspace view.

Workflow

• Improved the error message during item release - when there is a problem creating released item versions with multiple file versions of the same file, you will see a more descriptive error message under the Workflow actions tab of the change request.

Interface

• Fixed an issue where Custom Fields were not being filled out or shown correctly on a change notice.
• Red warning icon are now displayed in front of the quantity values on a change notice if (P quantity - H quantity) does not equal (R quantity + Move quantity).
• Significantly improved loading speed of Document views.

General

• Spanish language is now supported in the web and CAD plugins.
• Security updates.

API

• Expanded the endpoint for creating files /api/bom/v1/file-versions with a new optional parameter phantomConfigurationNames which enables adding phantom configurations to file being created.

Administration

• Fixed several issues when re-inviting users to Upchain.
