Upgrade the CAD plugin

You may download the latest CAD plugin version 24.5.0.0023 from the Plugins page immediately following the maintenance window. Upchain web 24.5.0.1552 is backward compatible with CAD plugin versions 24.3 and higher.

Interface

• Introduced a more efficient and streamlined Bulk Export process that enables you to choose a specific eBOM or cBOM to export. Further improvements for the cBOM bulk export include faster loading by only showing one level at a time, better handling of missing files, and updated renaming options.

API

• Upchain Webhook APIs are now integrated with Autodesk Platform Services.

Plugins

INVENTOR

• Weldment assemblies will be assigned the Assembly item type by default in the BOM wizard.

CAD

• CAD plugin no longer requres JAVA to be installed.
• CAD plugin installer size has been reduced by 10%.
• CAD plugin installation speed has been improved by ~45%.
• When you click Sign Out in the CAD plugin, your user session will stay active but the Sign in screen will be shown. In other words, you will remain signed into other Autodesk products such as Inventor and AutoCAD.
• Fixed an issue where the check in operation would stop without a meaningful error message when the tenant property file.version.change.description.mandatory is enabled and check-in is done on the drawing file.
• A new validation has been added to the check in operation. While translations (.dwg / .pdf) are being generated, validation will check whether the item name contains invalid file name characters and recommend you check if the tenant property item.name.in.translation.name is enabled. Moving forward, if it is enabled, you should remove invalid file name characters from the item name. This validation will not block check-in, but new translations won't be generated.
• Fixed an issue where the focus of a selected item in the cBOM view was lost after running the cancel checkout operation while working with large datasets.

Workflow

• Fixed an issue where change requests would fail to release due to unnecessary versioning of phantoms under released items which were removed from the eBOM.

Interface

• Team button is now removed from the web UI main header.
• A new "Regenerate all" option for visualization is now available to Tenant Admins. This function overwrites any existing visualizations.
• Fixed an issue where the 3D viewer "explode" feature was not working after searching for an item.
• Fixed an issue where the Tenant Admin was unable to activate projects in their own tenant.
• Fixed an issue where the 2D viewer for a SOLIDWORKS drawing would not open when clicking on the drawing icon within the BOM.

API

• Introduced changes to the API endpoint api/bom/v2/item-versions/{itemid}/file-versions-bulk. If it is determined that the file version is already linked to an item version, the file version cannot be linked to another item version. In other words, one file version cannot be linked to two item versions.

General

• Fixed an issue where the e-mail with Bulk export results was not sent because the PDF which contains the list of the missing files wasn't generated properly.
• Improved the logic when working with SOLIDWORKS file custom properties to ensure values are written properly to the file, and the change request process is completed successfully.
• When creating eBOM relationships, the eBOM attributes PC/WP, MTR, CofC, APVL and Ref Only will have false set as their default value, unless different values are specified.
• Security updates.
